K-FAST (Kaufman Functional Academic Skills Test), 1994

K-FAST

This assessment is an individually administered test to determine performance in reading and mathematics as applied to daily living situations. K-FAST reading and arithmetic tasks relate to everyday activities, such as:

  • Understanding labels on drug containers
  • Following directions in a recipe
  • Budgeting monthly expenses
  • Making price comparisons between products

Spanning ages 15-85, K-FAST adapted versions for braille and large print were designed to be used with academic and non-academic track students in the transitional stage and with adults for program placement purposes.

NOTE: Both the braille and large print editions include an administration manual in braille.
