The purpose of the Sports and Recreation Division of the National Federation of the Blind is to:

  • Support blind persons in their endeavors to achieve the integration of the blind into sports and recreational activities on a basis of equality with the sighted;
  • Promote the overall social and physical well-being of the blind of the nation;
  • Operate as a mechanism through which blind and sighted persons interested in competitive and recreational sports can come together to plan and carry out programs which will benefit blind athletes and those interested in competitive and recreational sports.
